Hello USC interested folks,



We have collected bulk text data dating back to 1991 and posted it to the

WWW site here:



http://uscode.house.gov/zip/bulktextdata



This is the data in the "pls" format (plain text).  There is a ZIP file

for each year that contains the entire USC.



Keep in mind that this is old stuff.  A good part of it was generated

from long gone Cobol programs and so forth.  However, over the years

there has been some interest in getting access to older data, so we

thought it would be appropriate to put this out there and let the

community get a look at it and determine if it is usable for their

purposes.  This data was previously available by downloading the CD-ROM

ISO images and using the data files from those CD-ROMS, but that didn't

seem to be a very useful way to post it.  We have now posted zip files

for each year in hope that it will be more accessible.
