Section 403 of the Reserve Officer Personnel Act of 1954 (50 U.S.C. 1303) makes applicable to non-lineal list reserve officers provisions of law relating to the selection for promotion of regular officers. The House and Senate reports cited in the revision note on section 5891 of this title contain a detailed explanation of the effect of this section. Among other things, the reports state that the section prescribes "the information which shall be furnished selection boards, viz:
(1) The names and records of all officers eligible for consideration.
(2) The number of officers that may be recommended for promotion * * *".
The provisions of law relating to regular officers incorporated by this section are codified in section 5706 of this title.
