§2016. Reports to Congress

The Commission shall submit to the Congress, in January of each year, a report concerning the activities of the Commission. The Commission shall include in such report, and shall at such other times as it deems desirable submit to the Congress, such recommendations for additional legislation as the Commission deems necessary or desirable.

Prior Provisions

Provisions similar to those comprising this section were contained in section 17 of act Aug. 1, 1946, ch. 724, 60 Stat. 774 , which was classified to section 1817 of this title, prior to the general amendment and renumbering of act Aug. 1, 1946, by act Aug. 30, 1954.

Amendments

1959-Pub. L. 86–43 struck out "and July" after "January".

Transfer of Functions

Atomic Energy Commission abolished and functions transferred by sections 5814 and 5841 of this title. See also Transfer of Functions notes set out under those sections.

Facility Licenses, Permits, and Inspections; Costs of and Fee Payments to Commission

Pub. L. 96–295, title III, §303, June 30, 1980, 94 Stat. 790 , provided that: "The Nuclear Regulatory Commission shall include in its annual report to Congress under section 251 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 [this section] a statement of-

"(1) the direct and indirect costs to the Commission for the issuance of any license or permit and for the inspection of any facility; and

"(2) the fees paid to the Commission for the issuance of any license or permit and for the inspection of any facility."
