§6244. Report on development of Naval Petroleum Reserve Number 4

The Secretary shall, in cooperation and consultation with the Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of the Interior, develop and submit to the Committees on Interior and Insular Affairs of the Senate and House of Representatives within 180 days after December 22, 1975, a written report recommending procedures for the exploration, development, and production of Naval Petroleum Reserve Number 4. Such report shall include recommendations for protecting the economic, social, and environmental interests of Alaska Natives residing within the Naval Petroleum Reserve Number 4 and analyses of arrangements which provide for (1) participation by private industry and private capital, and (2) leasing to private industry. The Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of the Interior shall cooperate fully with one another and with the Secretary; the Secretary of the Navy shall provide to the Secretary and Secretary of the Interior all relevant data on Naval Petroleum Reserve Number 4 in order to assist the Secretary in the preparation of such report.

Amendments

1978-Pub. L. 95–619 substituted "Secretary" for "Administrator", meaning Administrator of the Federal Energy Administration, wherever appearing.

1976-Pub. L. 94–258 substituted "to the Committees on Interior and Insular Affairs of the Senate and House of Representatives" for "to the Congress".

Change of Name

Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs of Senate abolished and replaced by Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of Senate, effective Feb. 11, 1977. See Rule XXV of Standing Rules of Senate, as amended by Senate Resolution No. 4 (popularly cited as the "Committee System Reorganization Amendments of 1977"), approved Feb. 4, 1977.

Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs of House of Representatives changed to Committee on Natural Resources of House of Representatives on Jan. 5, 1993, by House Resolution No. 5, One Hundred Third Congress. Committee on Natural Resources of House of Representatives changed to Committee on Resources of House of Representatives by House Resolution No. 6, One Hundred Fourth Congress, Jan. 4, 1995.
