§289. Transportation of passengers in foreign vessels
No foreign vessel shall transport passengers between ports or places in the United States, either directly or by way of a foreign port, under a penalty of $200 for each passenger so transported and landed.

Amendments
1898-Act Feb. 17, 1898, amended section generally, increasing from $2 to $200 the penalty for transporting passengers in foreign vessels.
